Roche Emmets 6-10 Clan na Gael 0-2
Zoe Treacy hit a hat-trick of goals as the U14 girls picked up their first win of the season in Roche on Saturday afternoon.
The lethal left-footer was in like lightning at every opportunity when the ball broke and with a ready supply, she made hay as the sun shone very brightly!
Indeed, the conditions were remarkably testing for both teams, though the Roche girls paced themselves and tended to allow the ball to do the work – their accurate passing and good handling were, therefore, a feature.
From Sophie Corcoran’s early point, the girls in blue never looked back with Ava Briscoe adding a second minor before good tackling by Evanna Corcoran led to Treacy capitalising for goal number one.
And from there, Emmets never looked back, Niamh Norton’s powerful surge and top-corner shot being one of many highlights during a first half in which Emmets struck 5-6 to Clans’ 0-2.
Treacy soon found the net again – and again as Norton found her with a wonderful pass before the ace poacher did the rest.
There were also some neat registers from Caoimhe Dunne and Kayleigh O’Hare either side of the break, while Ava Briscoe contributed 1-1 from midfield.
In a complete team display, every player performed with Erin Roe, Ffion Dolan, Rhiannon Dolan and Aoibheann Reilly among those to set a platform for the victors.
