Roche Emmets 3-11 Glyde Rangers/Westerns 3-12
The U16 girls suffered their first loss of the year in agonising circumstances on Wednesday night, succumbing to the Tallanstown combination by the minimum.
Roche were in cruise control during the first half with Hannah McArdle scoring a great goal to put Eddie Briscoe’s team in the ascendency.
With usual centre-half Rachel McKay out through injury, Naoise McGeeney was playing great stuff, along with Ciara Jane Whyte, McArdle, the Briscoe sisters, Aine McEneaney and Ellen Smith.
But the second half was in contrast as the visitors came roaring back – despite Lauren Briscoe and Smith finding the back of their net – and they secured an unlikely victory with a late three-pointer.
Kilkerley Emmets are next up for Roche.
